Together, let's tackle food wastage and feed those sleeping hungry in our community.
A volunteer-run non-profit in Tameside. Not just a foodbank — a space that connects donors with those in need, sharing nutritious food, hygiene essentials, baby supplies, pet food and warmth.
100% donation policy — every penny reaches our community.
The Cabin
is open.
Two years of fundraising, refurb and graft — and we have a real home for the fridge. Power, lighting, fridges, freezers, stocked shelves and an accessible doorway. A proper space to share what we have.
Thank you to everyone who chipped in to make it happen. Now we need to keep the shelves full — every donation, big or small, turns into a meal for a neighbour.

01 · Who we are
Your neighbours,
with a fridge full of
everything we can spare.
Ashton Community Fridge is run entirely by volunteers, based at Ashton Central Mosque on Hillgate Street. We started as a small idea — what if surplus food didn't end up in a bin, but on someone's table that night?
Today we hand out fresh produce, hot meals, hygiene parcels, pet food, baby supplies and clothing. Every penny donated goes directly to families on our doorstep — never to admin, never to wages.
"We're not here to ask questions. We're here to share what we have."
02 · Our impact, so far
supported families, elders, students & rough sleepers
fed because pets are family too
from landfill surplus food, redirected with love

04 · What we do
More than a foodbank.
A doorway.
Weekly food share
Fresh produce, store-cupboard staples and ready meals distributed every Sunday morning, no questions asked.
Pet food bank
Free dry & wet food for cats and dogs — because nobody should have to choose between feeding themselves or their pet.
Hygiene & sanitary parcels
Discreet packs of essentials — toothpaste, shower gel, period products — handed out without anyone needing to ask.
The Ayah Kitchen
Warm meals on selected Sundays for our foodbank visitors — somewhere to sit, eat, and feel looked after. Check the website before visiting.
Zakat & advice clinics
Drop-in sessions for benefits, debt, housing and Zakat — connecting you with someone who can actually help.
Seasonal hampers
Ramadan hampers, Eid toy drives, winter warm packs and Qurbani meat distribution — landmark moments shared as a community.
