Not just a Foodbank but much more, a space that connects donors with those in need, the fridge helps to ensure that nutritious food doesn’t go to waste whilst also providing additional valuable support to individuals and families experiencing insecurity in the Tameside area.

📣 Ashton Community Fridge Cabin Renovation Project: Our New Home Needs Your Help!
Our mission to fight food poverty and waste in Tameside is growing—and our small space is officially bursting at the seams!
🔑 Your Impact So Far
Over the past two years, operating from a tiny corner of the mosque community hall, our volunteers have achieved incredible things:
- Supported Over 6,400+ families with essential aid, including Food Items, Hot Meals, Household & Hygiene Items, Clothing, Toys, Books, Baby Supplies, Fresh Produce, and Women’s Sanitary Items.
- Fed Over 160+ Cats & Dogs with nutritious Pet Food, ensuring beloved companions are not forgotten.
🚧 We’re Halfway There!
Alhamdulil-laah, we have secured a grant to purchase a used cabin to serve as our new, dedicated community hub!
However, the grant does NOT cover the essential renovations needed to make it safe, warm, and operational.
We urgently need to raise £6,000 to transform this used structure into a safe, accessible, and life-changing space for our community.

🛠️ Essential Renovation Work (£6,000 Goal)
We must meet health and safety requirements before we can open our doors. Your donations will cover:
- Electric cabling for power
- New Flooring
- Lighting
- Shelving Units
- Fridge and Freezer units
- Rain cover (gazebo or canopy)
- Access Ramp
🌟 Vision for the New ACF Hub
The new cabin will allow us to dramatically expand our support, moving beyond simple food distribution to create a true centre of resilience. The new space will allow us to provide:
- The ability to stockpile stock to meet high demand during busy seasons (e.g., Ramadan, Christmas).
- Weekly community fridge and pet foodbank distribution.
- Storage for fridge and frozen items.
- Weekly soup kitchen.
- A place for people to come sit and have a cup of tea.
- Mental health support.
- Employment support.
- A pantry on the external of the cabin open anytime via a smart code.
- Women’s sanitary items available discreetly via a smart box outside of the cabin.
- A space for external organisations to come and provide additional support to users.
- Provide weekly Zakat clinics.
